Experience a unique tasting tour and cooking class in Athens during a short stay. Sample mouth-watering dishes of Greek cuisine from popular culinary experts in the ever-evolving restaurant district. This specially designed culinary escape will immerse you in 300+ years of the history and culture of Athenian cuisine. Discover its evolution for yourself while sampling delicious specialties from local eateries, markets, bakeries and restaurants.
Day One Arrival
Arrival in Athens (a transfer from Athens International Airport to your accommodation can be provided if pre-booked). Our guide will welcome you and inform you about the itinerary. Dinner on your own.
Day Two Walking Food Tour & Meze Dinner
Our guide is passionate about food and will show you culinary Athens at its best! The program includes a memorable tour visiting specialty food shops, lively and attractive delicatessens, mythical bakeries and sweet shops, restaurants, dairies, spice, grocery and pie shops where you will sample and taste the most traditional and gourmet versions of Greek food. The Athenian food tour also includes the vibrant central Varvakeios food market. Our guide will lead you to many small, hidden gastronomic destinations throughout the city. Offering an array of photo opportunities, remember to take your camera! This magnificent off the beaten track tour will conclude with lunch at a fabulous Greek restaurant. The rest of the afternoon will be free until our appointment for your night food tour. This is a great way to discover night time views, the excellent street art and of course to visit bars for a drink before heading to a local taverna for meze; a selection of small dishes that are perfect for sharing and accompanying wine, ouzo, beer. Such will be your evening!
Day Three Cooking Class & Wine Tasting
Get to know the wonderful world of Greek cuisine; the herbs, the fresh vegetables, the choice meats that are used in their dishes, and learn the basics of how to prepare a full Greek lunch. In the late morning, our chef will teach you how to prepare starters and a main course at a wonderful restaurant located in the heart of the city. After the hard work of preparing the meal, enjoy a wine tasting from a selection of Greek wines. The afternoon is free for your own activities. You can visit the Parthenon, the Acropolis Museum, or the archaeological museum of Athens. Shopping is also on the cards! Dinner on your own. A reservation at a quality recommended restaurant can be also made for this evening if you wish.
Day Three Cooking Class
After breakfast, the day starts with a visit to Athens central market with your cooking host/instructor. It is here that you will select your ingredients, the ones you will need for today's class. At the market you will learn about the seasonal produce of that moment, before heading back to the cooking school to begin the lesson. Under the watchful eye of your chef, you will create a traditional three course Greek meal. Once complete, it's time to enjoy your endeavours with some local wines. Following lunch, the afternoon is free for your own activities. You can visit the Parthenon, or the Acropolis museum, or the archaeological museum of Athens. Shopping is also on the cards! Dinner on your own. A reservation at a quality recommended restaurant can be also made.
Day Four Departure
A transfer to the airport can be arranged at extra cost, as can additional nights if you would like to stay longer in Athens.

Your hotel is located in the heart of Athens.
