Argentina
The fifth-largest wine producer in the world, Argentina has developed a sophisticated wine industry and many flock to the country to enjoy its bottled delights. The capital, Buenos Aires, is a well-trodden hotspot for Tango, poetry, and of course, eating and drinking, but if you want to be in the heart of Argentinian wine country, visit Mendoza city and its surrounding wine region. Full of bodegas (wineries), art deco buildings, galleries and outdoor dining opportunities, (including traditional Argentinian asado amongst the vines), Mendoza gives plenty of opportunity to savour an Argentinian Cereza, Criolla Grande or Malbec.
