This intensive cooking week is held in a medieval castle built in 1270, and covers the preparation of 30 courses, over six days with a five course meal being prepared for each lunch.
The five hour classes are followed with with a sit down meal complete with with local Chianti wines and coffee.
It's a fantastic program, perfect for those who are happy to cook daily, enjoy some free time and stay on a lovely Tuscan estate.
The average weekly program has 8 people, which means participants have good quality time with the chef and can learn new techniques thoroughly. The intimate setting of the smaller classes sees a mix of all ages, as well as singles and couples, and sometimes small groups of friends.
If you are a single traveller you will not be alone as the groups tend to mix well and enjoy each other's company during their free time.
And if you are a couple with one partner who doesn't wish to cook, they don’t have to join in. Alternative plans can be made for them if required. However they can join for meals!
There is no set day by day itinerary for this stay.
Each day will be a little different but typically in the afternoons you will partake in cooking a five course meal each day which will be your dinner.
It is intended as a rather intensive cooking course, but there is more than cooking!
In your downtime each morning you are free to explore the estate which is a working vineyard and olive grove. You will not only see the places where traditional olive oil and wine are produced, but also enjoy wine, extra virgin olive oil and balsamic vinegar tastings.
Here you will see how quality extra virgin olive oil and the famous Chianti wines have been made for centuries. All of this, a perfect compliment for your “Taste of Tuscany” cooking holiday.
There are also walking trails around the estate which you may wish to explore, as well as a picturesque pool beside which you may choose to relax.
Local shops, restaurants, bars and pizzerias are all within walking distance.
On one of the days, your cooking classes will be enriched by a visit to the bustling central food markets of Florence. Once there, the Chef or our guide will share with you information on an abundance of products, keeping the focus on how local ingredients have inspired traditional Tuscan dishes for generations.
