Day 1
Australia to Rome
Buongiorno! Welcome to Italy. Today begins your culinary journey of a lifetime. Upon arrival at the airport, you will be warmly greeted by our representative and transferred to your hotel. Crowded with ancient ruins and religious monuments, Rome still pulses to the beat of modern life and is packed with designer shops, restaurants, cafes and exciting nightlife. There are no activities planned for today, so if you arrive early there are plenty of things to keep you busy. One highly recommended sight would be Vatican City and St Peter's Basilica. Entry to the Basilica is free however there is a small charge to climb the dome for a breathtaking panorama over Bella Roma. If there's time, visit the Vatican Museum and the Sistine Chapel or do as the Romans do – sip an espresso at one of the tiny streetside cafes and sample the many flavours of gelato that colour the city.
