Short Description

If you would like to explore ancient Greece and enjoy the food and wine of the Peloponnese peninsula this small group package may well be for you. With the curious theme of ethonobotany (the use of plants as medicine and food) combined with wine and well being you are sure to not only experience the best of Greece but also learn a great deal too.

After a successful first tour on the topic of ethnobotany, wine and well-being in spring 2018, we are offering this extraordinary round trip for the second time. On our journey through the beautiful and wild Peloponnese we will get insight into the traditional use of plants as medicine and food or their symbolic and ritual meaning from antiquity, through the Middle Ages to the present day. We will visit sites of world cultural heritage, discover the authentic Mediterranean cuisine and the excellent wines of selected winemakers. Join us for this active trip, well-balanced between culture and pleasure.

Tour guides: Dominik Brun, Organizer and tour guide of Venikos wine & culture travels. His extensive network in the Peloponnese, focused on wines, gastronomy and organic products, as well as his in?depth knowledge of Greek culture, allow him to offer deeper insights into vibrant Greece of today.

Andreas Lardos, Ethnobotanist and ethnopharmacologist. Expert on the traditional use of plants in the Eastern Mediterranean, in particular Cyprus and Greece, with a detailed understanding of the herbal medicine of Greek antiquity as well as the Byzantine and Islamic Middle Ages.
