Short Description

An eight day private food and wine tour of Istria & Kvarner. Designed for the serious food and wine traveller.

This exquisitely delicious food and wine tour of Croatia is something very few people have even contemplated. If you are well travelled and are looking for new destinations and flavours, consider this private tour carefully as you will be one of the first to experience the culinary delights of this region. The food of Croatia is a wonderful product of its geographical location and historical influences.

With abundant produce from both land and sea, there are a range of great food making traditions found in every part of this tiny but diverse country. Many of the culinary delights are influenced by neighbouring countries such as Austria, Hungary and Italy and even the Middle East, whilst other dishes have originals only found in Croatia. And the wines from this part of Mediterranean Europe are of a style that is driven by two distinct climatic conditions - cold winters and warm summers in the interior of the country and humid summers and mild winters on the coastline. Croatia is, in fact, the home of the Slavonian oak forest, producing the oak casks favoured by many winemakers in Europe for ageing their finest wines.

The tour features three course lunches and dinners in leading local restaurants as you travel through the coastal regions of Istria & Kvarner, as well as seven wine tastings, three olive oil tastings and even a truffle tasting - this is a tour for the serious food and wine lover!
Nothing is left to chance with your experienced driver and guide who will escort you the entire journey. In between the merriment of food and wine you will also see the essential sights of the regions including four private English speaking tours and stays in 4 or 5 star hotels throughout (your choice!)

If you are looking for something new and exciting for your next visit to Europe, you may have just found it! Croatia is a country of diverse appeal and offers the astute traveller a destination of substance.
