Spend a week taking in the best of Greek hospitality as you learn your way around their kitchen and cuisine on the island of Paros.

This easy-paced itinerary is focussed on the food of Greece, giving you the chance to learn how to cook typical dishes as well as some you may not know so well!
Classes are undertaken with local cooks, as well as gourmet chef's for a balanced approach to what is learned and tasted.

Staying the entire time in a four star hotel, this will become your base from which to explore the island.

A day trip to Hydra is featured, as well as plenty of free time for relaxation or to further discover your surrounds.

This delicious experience takes place on the beautiful island of Paros opposite the mainland of Greece (Peloponnese and Argolida), and is located only 31 miles from Piraeus, connected daily by hydrofoils and ferries.

Arrival

After landing in Athens, you will be provided with a transfer to your home for the next week. This is a four star family run hotel in Paros, where you will have time to unpack and marvel at the spectacular views.

Early in the evening, you will enjoy a relaxing welcome dinner.

Paros Town & Cooking with a Local

Relax in the morning with breakfast at the hotel. What follows is a guided walking tour of Paros town including the clock tower where you will be awed by the view, the smells, the sounds and the light of the heart of Mediterranean heaven!

Lunch on your own.

In the late afternoon, you will have your first amazing cooking lesson using fresh, seasonal ingredients at the house of a local lady with a lifetime of cooking experience.

You’ll prepare a three course dinner under her guidance before joining together at the table to enjoying the fruits of your labour.

Cooking with a Chef

After breakfast at the hotel, our fabulous day of cooking begins with another class at a Paros Restaurant under the expert tutelage of the Chef. Once completed, enjoy your three course creation paired with local wine.

The afternoon is free to explore the island or relax.

We recommend that you hire a car and visit the Epidaurus Theatre, one of the most famous ancient theatres in the world, and the most well preserved in Greece. This theatre is revered for its exceptional acoustics.

Follow with sightseeing in the glorious city of Nafplio, the first capital of Greece. Discover the fortress and explore the charming Mediterranean old town with its narrow, colourful streets.

The town of Methana, opposite Paros on the mainland, is another option, or simply stay in Paros and visit the museum or enjoy a lazy afternoon swimming.

Cooking with a Local

Breakfast is at the hotel before heading to a new cooking class at the house of a Paros local. Here you will learn how to prepare a Greek technical dish and a dessert.

Your host family produces one of the world’s finest olive oils and will also provide a complimentary olive oil tasting.

For lunch, you will enjoy the meal you cooked along with wine and other Greek delicacies.

Hydra

Today features a visit to magical Hydra, an island protected by its UNESCO World Heritage status. Hydra is only a 20 minute trip by hydrofoil from Paros.

This trip is not escorted by our guide but instead you have time to explore the island at your own pace.

The island has retained its traditions: no cars are allowed and transport is confined to donkeys, bicycles or on foot.be sure to visit the lovely main part – ‘chora’ – of the island. A must-see destination, this is a day for perfect holiday snaps!

Return to Paros late afternoon.

Dinner at the hotel’s restaurant.

Monastery, Pastries & Wine

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel and then spend the morning with your guide exploring the Orthodox Zoodochos Pigi Monastery, located in Kalavria.

After your visit, enjoy famous Greek pastries at a traditional “Kafenion” (Greek coffee and pastry shop) next to the monastery.

Lunch on your own.

The afternoon is free to relax, swim, or to shop in Paros town.

Your evening begins with a comprehensive Greek wine tasting accompanied by small traditional snacks, followed by a three course dinner, at a magical tavern in Paros.

Departure following breakfast at the hotel.

Transfer to Piraeus by hydrofoil, followed by a transfer to the airport, or hotel in Athens.
